The City of Tuscaloosa is a western Alabama city that is situated in and serves as the county seat of Tuscaloosa County. The city, which is located on the banks of the Black Warrior River, was incorporated on December 13th, 1819. Tuscaloosa has a population of about 95,000 people. It is the fifth largest city in Alabama. Tuscaloosa served as the capital of Alabama from 1826 to 1846 until the capital was moved to Montgomery.
