Woodstock is a western Alabama town that is situated in both Bibb and Tuscaloosa counties. Formerly known as North Bibb, Woodstock had a population of about 1,400 people in 2010. The town was first settled in the 1820s by William Houston. In 1996, Woodstock was incorporated as the Town of North Bibb. After several changes to the town’s name, it was again changed to Woodstock in 2000 by S. B. Albert Hutchens who served as the Mayor of Woodstock at the time.
Although Woodstock is a small town, there are still several things to see and do around the community. Woodstock is home to two notable restaurants, the Tin Roof Restaurant and Track Side BBQ. Many tourists and residents of the town consider these two restaurants to be the best in Woodstock. The town is also home to West Winter Lights. This event provides individuals the opportunity to drive through a beautiful display of Christmas lights with their families while listening to fun holiday music. In addition to restaurants that serve delicious food and exciting family friendly events, Woodstock, Alabama is also home to several shops and boutiques that provide visitors a glimpse into the town’s rich culture.
